What is special about this deck?

This wonderful 44 card oracle deck features two “twin” cards for each of the twenty-two tarot major arcana archetypes. In each pair, one card represents the light and one the shadow, creating unique visual and conceptual interpretations while maintaining the fundamental integrity of the traditional major arcana. Positive interpretations of, for instance, The Hermit – ‘the light side’ – include finding wise counsel within or without, perhaps through a period of withdrawal and contemplation. Less positive meanings – ‘the darker side’ – might be ignoring sound advice offered, or becoming a complete isolate.

This unique Twin Tarot Oracle deck has messages of wisdom and hope when used purely as an oracle, including a meaningful Affirmation.

The deck also offers a creative and expansive approach for reading major arcana tarot spreads, and has the addition of Key Words and Phrases. It serves as a powerful learning tool for students and beginners and a stimulating complementary deck for more advanced tarot readers.

Let’s see what is has to say about the two Fools:

0 THE FOOL
THE LIGHT SIDE

A leap of faith I should take if I dare!
Soar like the eagle, and do it with flair.

Innocence, Purity, Adventurousness, Spontaneity, Freedom

Despite her title, The light Fool is not really foolish, just a little unconventional. She’s a free spirit who approaches life with purity, innocence and trust – which is just what you need right now.

You’ve chosen this card as you consider embarking on a new venture or adventure, be it a new job, business, house, holiday or relationship. Your instincts tell you to go for it but your rational side, or perhaps other people, may be less enthusiastic.

The light Fool warns you not to be held back by the limited thinking of others or be weighed down by mistakes or losses you’ve sustained in the past. Nor should you worry about possible dangers or failures that might lie ahead. Now is a time to be spontaneous and adventurous in both your thoughts and your actions; a time to take a leap of faith – to dive into the unknown believing in yourself and trusting that the Universe will guide and support you on this journey.

The light Fool reminds you that it’s healthy to dream, and even healthier to live the dream – or at least try to! Don’t be afraid of making mistakes, for they are our greatest teachers. Remember that life is a continuous dance of journeys and experiences. Feel at one with The Fool’s spirit:  the perfect state of joy and freedom.

 Key Phrases

  • Embarking on a new venture, journey or adventure
  • Taking a leap of faith
  • Being open to new opportunities and experiences
  • Independence of spirit

THE FOOL
THE DARK SIDE

I will not be foolish; I will beware;
In any new ventures, I’ll tread with care.

Naivety, Rashness, Foolishness, Carelessness, Thoughtlessness

The dark Fool wants action and she wants it now! Her heart, her whole being is telling her to take a risk, jump, go for it – whatever ‘it’ represents.

You’ve chosen this card because you too are in that restless frame of mind. Your ‘it’ could be a new job or business opportunity, a new relationship, indeed any new venture. You are aware there’s a big risk element involved and there are plenty of naysayers (represented in the card by the little black dog) reminding you of that. But you don’t want to listen. You want action. You want to fly!

The dark Fool reminds you that there’s a big difference between being open to life’s new adventures and being foolhardy, between healthy risk-taking and escapism. Does your idea have real potential or could it be pie in the sky? Are you trying to escape wounds from the past?  If so, it’s unwise to ignore them. Old baggage could weigh heavily on your ability to succeed. Lastly, have you thought about consequences as well as potential, especially the consequences your actions could have for others?

These are all ‘prickly’ questions you need to consider carefully before taking any leap into the unknown.

Key Phrase

  • Acting too impulsively
  • Imprudent action likely to cause harm to self or others
